How does TrustedX manage electronic signatures over time?

Usually, the loss of evidential information is related to the passing of time (evidence that was once valid ceases to be so at a certain time) or to the mobility of the signed document (in some implementations the evidence is only valid in the context of the actual file system).

The solution to the problem is specified in the RFC 3126 of IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force) from 2001, later also adopted in the XAdES and CAdES standards by ETSI (European Telecommunications Standards Institute), both supported by TrustedX. These recommendations are based on ensuring electronic evidence (certificates, CRL or OCSP) using time-stamps.

The implementation of these functions in TrustedX is associated with the electronic document custody and filing service, transparently guaranteeing non-repudiation over time. The service, based on LTANS (Long-Term Archive And Notary Systems), offers document registration functions (sending documents for their custody), status verification (verification of the status of one or more documents), document extraction (obtaining signed documents, in this case they may be verified by third parties), erasure (elimination of documents) and verification (verifying the documents’ signatures).
