What kind of electronic signatures does TrustedX support?

The signature profiles supported by TrustedX are those defined in IETF RFC 3126 and ETSI CAdES/XAdES. To summarise:
- Basic signature (BES) and explicit policy signature (EPES), which includes the electronic signature and other basic information provided by the signer (for example, date of signature, signature policy, etc.). It is the form of signature generated by the author of the signature.
- Time-stamp signature (ES-T), incorporated to the previous one and a time-stamp issued by a TSA. The time-stamp is added when the signature is verified, although it can also be supplied by the author of the signature.
- Signature with complete validation information (ES-C) that adds to the previous one the series of references that will complete the electronic signature verification (chain of certificates and information on the certificates’ status). References are incorporated to the signature after a sufficient amount of time or grace period.
- File signature (ES-A). Includes all information required for its verification in the temporarily stamped signature (when it includes this first time-stamp, it is called an extended signature). Over time, the signature will be renewed periodically using additional time-stamps. TrustedX performs these updates transparently, thus guaranteeing the longevity of stored signatures.
