What ePassport Components Does KeyOne Support?
Safelayer's KeyOne family provides a complete solution for deploying the e-passport PKI, both the ICAO (e-passport signing) and the EAC (e-passport verification) parts. This solution passed the latest tests undertaken in Prague (www.e-passports2008.org).
KeyOne Products for the ICAO PKI
The KeyOne products for the ICAO part include all the entities for issuing first generation e-passports.
- The CSCA (Country Signing Certification Authority) issues certificates for national DSs (Document Signer).
- The DSs signs the e-passports.
These products have already been deployed for issuing first generation Spanish e-passports.
KeyOne Products for the EAC PKI
The KeyOne products for the EAC part includes all the entities (except the IS (Inspection System)) for verifying second generation e-passports.
- The CVCA (Country Verifying Certification Authority) issues CV digital certificates for the DVs (Document Verifiers).
- The DVs issue CV digital certificates for the national ISs.
- The CVRA (Country Verifying Registration Authority) acts as a SPOC (Single Point of Contact) and a national Registration Authority.
These products have been deployed in a first phase for verifying second generation Spanish e-passports (pending the final standardization of the communication processes). See e-Passport SPOC in KeyOne 3.0 for a more detailed description of the KeyOne components for the EAC PKI.
